One of the most frequent requests we receive is for information about Crusher Run...which is also commonly referred to as Crush and Run...which is also called Graded Aggregate Base (or G.A.B for short) by industry contractors. Wanna learn about it? Sure you do!

Crusher Run is a blended mix of coarse aggregates and fine aggregates. These aggregates are comprised of crushed stone and stone dust (fine particles that are left over from the larger stone crushing process) which produces a very low void content and is crucial for a strong compaction factor. When Crusher Run is compacted it creates a very stable base that interlocks reducing the occurrence of shifting and washing out.

The larger aggregate (coarse) measures up to 2" in diameter and down through a #200 sieve (really really fine.)

So, what can Crusher Run be used for?

- Driveways

- Base for driveways

- Sub base for slabs

- Base for paver patios

- Walkways

Typically, Crusher run is spread at 2"-3" thickness. At 2" depth, one ton of Crusher Run will cover 80 square feet. It is one of the more affordable aggregate products, it's durable and it bonds/compacts better than anything else.
