Crushed Concrete aggregate (Crusher Run and #4 stone) is an extremely usable and economic option to quarried stone. We started producing crushed concrete aggregates to reduce the burden on local landfills of leftover and reclaimed concrete as well as to control leftover concrete from our sister company. So, what are the pros and cons of Crushed Concrete Crusher Run?

PROS

-Much cheaper than quarried Crusher Run

-Will actually harden some when introduced to water due to un-hydrated cement particles that remain after crushing

-Positive effect on local landfills/environment

-Turns very white when dry

Cons

- Due to makeup of concrete, our Crushed Concrete Crusher Run (CCCR) will dust slightly more initially.  This is short-lived and ceases after a few days....especially with introduction to water/rain.

- Quarried Crusher Run typically runs through a very sophisticated classification system that gives a higher gradation rating.

As you can see below, both products are very similar. Both will work for most any application.

BOTH are perfect for driveways, slabs / slab preparation / substrates etc.  The main difference is that our CCCR is NOT approved for DOT projects (highways, interstates etc)  It is perfectly acceptable for any residential, commercial and private projects.
